| Confident Carnival orders new cruise ship |

| Carnival Cruise Lines, in a bullish move for the recession-battered cruise industry, ordered a 130,000-ton cruise ship -- marking the first new cruise ship order in more than 20 months. Miami-based Carnival agreed to pay Italian cruise shipbuilder Fincantieri in dollars -- rather than euros, the standard currency for the European shipyards -- to protect against a slide in the U.S. dollar that would drive up the cost of the 3,690-passenger ship. read more... |

The European Union and two blocs of developing countries have reached a deal on bananas, ending the world's oldest trade dispute and removing a barrier to a new agreement to open up global commerce, diplomats said on Tuesday.
