How to Quickly Remove Unwanted Browser Toolbars

All modern browsers have built-in toolbars that let you browse the web, save your favorite sites for quick access, and use valuable extensions. So when you download https://apps.apple.com/us/app/call-recorder-for-iphone/id1503665233, you will see it.

Toolbars can be developed by companies other than browsers. Some of them are secretly installed and end up annoying you when you are using your browser. In addition, these toolbars usually infiltrate your computer along with other applications and cause ad pop-ups or some of these intrusive toolbars result from malware or adware getting onto your computer. So don't forget to protect your Mac with professional security software like MacKeeper.

However, if you already have a toolbar that you want to remove, please remove it in the browser you are using:

 1. Google Chrome

 2. Safari

Installing toolbars and extensions

As mentioned above, annoying toolbars and extensions may produce free software. Found on the internet, downloadable games, and sales.

However, in most cases, these plugins are flagged and require permission to install.

To avoid such problems, read each dialog box when installing a new program or game. A checkbox may already be selected that allows programs to install toolbars and extensions on your Mac.

This story is similar to the unwanted browser we covered earlier. Now let's see how to remove the toolbar from the browser.

Remove unwanted items from the Applications folder

Starting with macOS Catalina, all plug-ins and add-ons are stored in the Applications folder. Therefore, to remove an extension or toolbar from your Mac, you need to drag all installation files from your Applications folder:

1. Open the application folder

2. Locate and open the Toolbars folder.

3. Delete unnecessary toolbars. This process will remove the main software from the installed toolbars. You can also check these locations to remove leftover installer toolbars. You can now remove the toolbar from your browser.

This is a general procedure regardless of the browser you use. However, if you can't find the Toolbars folder, or you're on an older version of macOS.
