How To Fix Shortcuts not Working On Home Screen in IOS 14.3

iPhone shortcuts not working when run from the home screen on iOS 14.3? And even using https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cleanup-app-storage-cleaner/id1541639300 don’t fix it? Does launching from the share tab or reassigning touch gestures also crash shortcuts? You're not the first! 

Apple changed the way shortcuts work in iOS 14.3. Opening shortcuts from the iPhone home screen is no longer controlled by the Shortcuts app. The experience is much smoother. 

Shortcuts not working on iOS 14.3 

Shortcuts crash when opened with the start screen, share sheet, or back button To do. Not sure if this is a bug or if Apple changed the way it works. do not know.

Fixed shortcut crash on iOS 14.3 

The shortcut seems to be broken for various reasons. 

1. Restart the iPhone 

Troubleshooting should start with a reboot to ensure that minor performance issues are resolved. Press and hold the volume up/down and side buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Please wait while the device restarts. Enter your passcode and run the shortcut again. 

2. Second Download of Shortcuts 

Then you can try reinstalling and restarting the Shortcuts app. Do this in Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage -> Shortcuts. Click here to download the app. This allows you to save app data and restore shortcuts when you reinstall the app. 

3. "Validation" has been added. 

Open the shortcut and scroll to Cut. 

Tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the Shortcuts tab. 

Tap to add features. Go to script and select Wait for return. 

Drag to the end of the shortcut, passing escape points such as URLs. Finally, click Done. 

4. Add code to open with a shortcut 

Adding "Open Shortcut" to the beginning of a shortcut causes the Shortcuts app to execute the command, as it did in iOS 14.2 and earlier. This isn't ideal, but it's a temporary fix to keep the shortcuts working until the issue is resolved. 

Method: Open the Shortcuts app and scroll to the crashing shortcut. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the tab. Click the icon to add code. Look for the "Open Shortcut" command. Add it and drag it to the top of your shortcuts.
