Jagex says the feature "has been a flashpoint for this type of behavior" and that 38 per cent of all bans for RWT activity up until now come from that aspect to the gameplay. This is why the developer appears to be taking the radical approach, stating "we're planning in the long run to take down the Duel Arena out of RuneScape entirely." In the meantime, it will implement "some quick-term actions" to improve PvP "until our development teams can deliver a major update that fully will replace the Duel Arena next year."
The rules will have a limit to the total amount GP, or gold points and players will be able to stake the outcome of a game at the Duel Arena. Players will be allowed to wager "no higher than $50m GP per duel". Additional rules haven't been provided as of now.
